B2 ride report Casterton Golf Club - Simon Ashby
No volunteers for scribing this weeks homework, so here it is. Blah, blah , blah, the end.??
Three failed to attend assembly, blaming hangovers, sickness, gardening etc. So no Miriam, nor any sweet peas. ?? A quiet time for the lads.
Those attending were, myself, Ste Woodward , Cervelo Jackson, Dave (76), Ian Mcgrath, Vincent George, David Hodgson, Ferez Rawat , Roy Swarbrick and newbie Cate Stanley.
We decided to give the B1s a head start. After a few minutes we headed out through Scorton, Hollins Lane and upwards through to Quarnmore. A short rest at the witches hat and then on to Caton. David and Cate decided to return via the Lune cycle path to avoid further hills.
We were soon on the busy road to Hornby where we increased the pace. Climbing out of Gressingham we were soon heading for our destination snapping on the heels of the B1s.
After refreshments the party were keen to set off minutes behind the departing B1s. Plenty of hills to test our legs over to Burton in Kendal and then over the Kellets. Everyone kept up a reasonable pace and we were soon over to Galgate and back on Hollins Lane. Here our group parted, some to Garstang, others to The Patton Arms for a well deserved beer and home. The end. Phew!
