C Ride - Bill
Large group of C riders set off from the cobbles to the first stop - Kenlis Arms. Here the group split into two: (i) fast and (ii) not so fast. Following the Chairman’s guidance, riders re-grouped at designated places (pubs) to rest, chat, admire the view or simply, wish they were in the pub on such a grey day. Much climbing was to be done before reaching the cafe on Beacon Fell where riders increased by four, to be followed later by two ‘walking wounded’ (Malcolm & Helen). After a couple of gritty climbs to Blacksticks, where one is obliged to stop and admire the view, cameras came out to conveniently extend the rest interval. From here, a quieter and less undulating ride through Bleasdale to Garstang made for a pleasant morning of cycling. Thanks all for the company.
