Ribchester - Tamzin Roberts
Another lovely sunny day today, shame about that cold wind though. 14 C riders made their way through the spring countryside, via Smithy Lane, Walmsley Bridge and Whitechapel heading to Longridge, then the easy climb up the south side of the fell to the Newdrop Inn. We then enjoyed the twisty descents of Huntingdon Hall road and Gallows lane all the way into Ribchester. The Potters Barn cafe were expecting us and we got the whole upstairs room to ourselves, the service and large quantities of food were spot on. With cafe legs we headed out of Ribchester up hill to Longridge again where we avoided the town centre and made our way through the lovely quiet lanes to Inglewhite and down the infamous Bourne Brow, (still very rough with just a nice smooth patch on the bend!) A few riders peeled of to head home including me, the rest headed the few miles back to Garstang. 36 miles at 12 mi/h average and max elevation 722 ft.
