Ride Reports

Waddington 40 miles - Stuart M
My warnings on fb were this route had never been attempted by the C group and this particular RC would definitely be at the rear of group. Despite this 12 valiant stoics turned up on the cobbles and we moved off towards our secondary pickup point in Inglewhite.
Here, three more joined us and we made our way towards Longridge along the familiar back lanes leading to Alston Arms.
It was about here that 3 wise members of our number decided, for various reasons to make alternative ways home. The remaining 12 completed the rest of the ride.
The route took us towards Chipping but stayed on lower lanes through the Whitewell Estate in the most direct route to Cow Ark. As photo reported elsewhere on fb, it was here where we met up with Nathan (about 4 yrs old) who was gallantly taking his Dad on a camping trip to Garstang. I hope they had a good w/e.
Our direction took us past Brewlesholme Hall and along a very quiet lane which brought us to about half-mile of Waddinton.
Our café break was the Country Kitchen which served us very efficiently with our wants even though 12 Skipton cycling club members were already seated.
Our return to Garstang was along more familiar lanes past Bashall Barn and up Chaigley hill through Walkers Fold and Hesketh Lane to Whitchapel.
At this point this RC peeled off. Thanks everyone who patiently waited at the tops of the hills for me. The banter and company were great. See you next time.
