B1 Ride to Blackpool by Steve Kelly
The rain started as soon as we left the cobbles. Not a good sign. Luckily it cleared just as we met Keith O at the top of Lydiate Lane. Thanks Keith! The B2 group dropped us at this point, to be met later in the cafe. We made our way towards Lytham against a nagging little headwind. Some volunteered at the front, some didn't and their cards have been marked for future wheel sucking.
In ever improving conditions we took the prom route, gaily buzzing the pedestrians (not really) with the breeze on our backs by this point. Soon into the outskirts of Blackpool and lunch at the Solaris. Got to mention the £4.95 full English breakfast including toast and tea or coffee. Taken by 3 of us without fear of the consequences. It has to be said however that the sausages only had a passing resemblance to something meaty. But still outstanding value.
Lunch over we continued along the front, stopping for the obligatory photo in front of the Tower. At this point I ceded (delegated) the route finding to someone who knew how to escape Blackpool. Thanks Mr Vice Chairman. This got us back to the Shard bridge and back to home ground. Happy days
